I've been waiting on a ramen spot on foodcourt! and so happy this place opened up. and they have rolls too! my son had maze soba and i had regular ramen. it starts from $9.99 and it's pretty good! i would def come back. qnd also there was a super friendly guy had ratatouille stuffed toy on his shoulder and my son loved it. love the vibe It would be amazing if they add kids ramen set (only corn/seaweed toppings) with drink... and gyoza dumplings

Making your ramen spicy is an absolute must. Since this location is in a food court, the containers are sadly all takeout. I'm all about the presentation which they still managed to do but I feel like ramen needs to be served in a ramen bowl to get the true experience. That said, each bowl comes with reusable chopsticks you get to keep so that's a big plus!! I tried the Pork Tonkotsu Ramen Special and let me tell you, the broth was bland. I was shocked because ramen is notoriously salty but I actually had to add soy sauce to give it some flavor! That's why I highly recommend making it spicy because I found out that's where all the flavor comes in. The noodles were al dente and the egg was phenomenal. It had the perfect jammy texture and it soaked up all the marinade so you could taste it in every bite. The char shu pork was the perfect balance of fatty and lean. The size of it is pretty large but it's a thin cut. I didn't make a mistake with the other bowl though. The Spicy Lobster Ramen Broth Special was much better. You could taste the lobster in the broth but there isn't any actual lobster (just a head's up). All the toppings were the exact same as the other bowl and just as good. I ordered a Spicy Salmon Roll and a Spicy Tuna Roll which was nice to cut the fattiness and heaviness of the ramen. It's such a good size and only $5.

So excited that one of my favorite ramen shops, @ramenking_keisuke , is now open right next to me at @westfieldcenturycity ! @ramenking_keisuke features the signature, award-winning tonkatsu ramen crafted by Chef Keisuke Takeda, who has won the Tokyo Ramen Championships since 2011. Definitely give my favorite spicy tonkatsu deluxe ramen a try, as well as their lobster ramen, which is perfect if you want to try an unique ramen flavor that's not available anywhere else! Unfortunately, this location did fall a bit short for me. I understand that this particular location is in a mall, so it makes sense that they serve their meals using disposable trays and utensils (compared to their sit-down Monterey Park location). Because it's located in the dining terrace, you do have to seat/serve yourself, and it definitely can get crowded and noisy with patrons from other restaurants. However, even the quality of the ramen was different between these two locations- both my friend and I received barely any broth, and our noodles were not the traditional ramen noodles that we had in their other location, and seemed a lot cheaper/less flavorful and soggy. This location does have its perks though- the staff seemed more well-trained and efficient with churning out orders, and their chashu is a lot less fatty (which I prefer). Despite the misleading small size of the takeout containers, there's actually a HUGE amount of food in there, and both my friend and I definitely had trouble finishing our meals. Nevertheless, I would still highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area, especially for their $9.95 tonkatsu ramen special, which is insanely affordable for West LA!

I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ($10.95) and this review is purely for that. It includes a piece of chashu, wood ear mushrooms, and scallions and I found their noodles were more fine than usual. You place your order via the kiosk which made the process of ordering very quick and they brought the order out very shorty. My first impression is the ramen didn't look very appetizing but I honestly didn't mind the ramen in the plastic container, because I was going to take the delicious broth home anyways. They also give you the cutest pair of high-quality printed chopsticks which I took home. So the spicy tonkotsu smelled so aromatic and the garlic and chili oil made my mouth water. Whether you're a spicy freak or you shy away from it, GET THE SPICY. The ramen has that perfect amount of kick and spice that really adds to the ramen without being so hot so you'll still be able to enjoy your food. My only complaint is that the broth was a bit salty and the chashu was thin and not as tender as I'd preferred. Other than that, the noodles were perfectly al dente and the broth was a perfect temperature. Next time, I'll try the other ramen from them and the rolls. Would I come back? Yes!

The current reigning champion of the Tokyo Ramen Championships, Keisuke Takeda, just launched his new restaurant concept Ramen King Keisuke with a second location in the Westfield Century City food court. Takeda's ramen restaurants are famed for their tonkotsu broth and their lobster broth - please note that it's lobster broth, there's no actual lobster meat available on the menu. Prices start at $9.95 for the basic tonkotsu and go up to $19.95 for the spicy lobster broth ramen special. It costs an extra $5 to get the "special" version ($4 if you order the spicy ramens), which add seaweed, soft boiled egg and another piece of chashu. The menu also includes $5 rolls, made-to-order. Orders are placed via touchscreens and your name called once it's ready. While I did not order the regular tonkotsu, I did try the spicy tonkotsu ramen ($10.95), topped with a slice of chashu, wood ear mushrooms and scallions. The broth did have a kick to it, living up to its name. I was extremely curious about the lobster broth ramen ($14.95). Orange in color, the broth was delicately fishy, although there was a layer of oil that coated my lips. As mentioned previously, you do not get any lobster meat - only the previously mentioned chashu (thick and slightly chewy), wood ear mushrooms and scallions. Probably my favorite thing about the visit were the chopsticks. Their cat-festooned chopsticks were very cute, a much higher quality than what you normally would get (especially in a food court). I'd say Ramen King Keisuke is about 3.5 stars, considering it's in the food court, but will round it up to 4, thanks to those chopsticks. At $14.95, I would have much rather gone to Ramen Nagi in the mall, which is the same price and better. However, if I was looking for a quick, cheap lunch in the food court, the $9.95 tonkotsu ramen would fit the bill - a nice change from the other chain restaurants. Also, if you're curious to try Ramen King Keisuke, I would recommend visiting the Monterey Park location, where you can help yourself to the eggs on the table for free ($2.50 each add on charge at the Century City location). Free one hour parking at the mall.
